Sophie is the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer of Gulf International Bank (UK) Limited. She is responsible for driving an effective risk culture throughout the company, maintaining the risk and compliance frameworks, overseeing risk management, regulatory compliance and internal governance practices. She joined GIB (UK) with extensive experience in the field, having previously served as Head of EMEA Compliance and Operational Risk Control at UBS Asset Management, the Global Head of Organisational Risk at Barings and the Group Head of Investment Risk Framework at Schroders.

Sophie was Deputy Chair of the Risk Forum Committee from 2008 to 2016 and the Chair of the Investment Association’s Business & Enterprise Risk Committee from 2016 to 2019 and participated into the Climate Financial Risk Forum Working.

Sophie graduated from Université Lumière Lyon 2 with a Master’s degree in Economics and Finance. She is a member of the Global Association of Risk Professionals and the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and a fellow of the Climate Safe Lending Network.

Outside of work, Sophie is a Trustee and Audit Committee member at First Light Southwest, a charity supporting people affected by sexual violence and domestic abuse.
