GIB Asset Management appoints Sustainability and Engagement Manager

03/21 GIB Asset Management

London: 3 March 2021: GIB Asset Management (“GIBAM”), today announces the appointment Blaine Abraham as Sustainability and Engagement Manager.

Blaine joins the team to manage and further develop active ownership in the form of proxy voting and engagement for GIB AM’s asset base. He will also drive the execution of GIB AM’s responsible investment approach in line with market best practice, and support the investment team and wider organisation on ESG matters.

His appointment reflects GIBAM’s belief that investors can drive stronger financial returns through effective sustainability-related engagement activities.

Blaine joins from Allianz Global Investors where he spent over three years as an ESG Analyst. His role involved company-specific and thematic ESG research, leading stewardship and engagement activities, proxy voting, and presenting on ESG issues. Prior to that, he worked as an Investment Analyst for Harbour Asset Management.

Neil Brown, Head of Equities, said: “We fully integrate sustainability into our active ownership activities to deliver positive change. With Blaine’s appointment, we have a dedicated, experienced specialist embedded within the investment team to identify the key issues, and to work with all stakeholders to drive the changes we need.”
